Probably the absolute best thing about blogging is getting to know other bloggers. Its great to be an encouragement and support for each other. For me, Bonnie Lynn Smith from Espressos of Faith has been one of these bloggers.

That’s one of the reasons I was so excited about reading her book, Not Just On Sundays. The other is that I really enjoy the way she writes. She manages to make really deep ideas seem so simple by relating them to everyday life

Her book is just the same.

I want to start of by saying this is a long book! It will take a little while to read, but don’t let that put you off. It’s broken down into short chapters, almost like a devotional. In fact, that’s kind of how I read this book.

In each of the chapters Bonnie relates a story from her everday life to a biblical truth. Some are funny, some are serious and some are seriously challenging to read. But all of them contain deep insights; and plenty of scripture to back them up. Hence the title, Not Just on Sundays, because our faith isn’t just for Sundays, but for every second of our lives.

This  book challenged me. A lot. But I also enjoyed getting a little peek into Bonnies life.

  1. I wasn’t aware of this book. I love challenging non-fiction Christian books! That is mostly the type of book I review in my weekly Friday book reviews. I also enjoy our back and forth encouragement on each other’s blogs, Cherry. I think Christian women bloggers are the Bee’s Knees!
