Yesterday Joe and I visited the butterfly house outside the Natural History Museum. We went last year, and loved it so much we decided we had to go back again this year.Looking at the butterflies made me think about the new life we have in Christ.
Before the butterflies were butterflies they were just caterpillars. They couldn’t fly and they were easily trampled.
After metamorphosis they were transformed. They could fly. And they were beautiful. Our life with Christ is like that. Before we become Christians we are a pale shadow of what Christ intended.
After we come to him we are transformed. We can do things that we never imagined. (I don’t think a caterpillar would ever have dreamed of flying.)
We are filled with beauty. We are free.
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. (2 Corinthians 5:7)
